Typical Project Information

On a typical project for construction contractors we will undertake to:

Stage 1

  • Review the tender documents the Main Contractor will send to DGA.
  • DGA will measure and price the tender and submit on the contractor’s behalf, following a tender adjudication to discuss the specifics of the project. (ie: preliminaries, site logistics and profit margins).

Stage 2

  • Assist the contractor negotiate the tender with the client/architect – offering value engineering services as required.

Stage 3

  • Once the contract is placed with the contractor – DGA can act as the Contractor’s Quantity Surveyor with the following post contract services:
    • Procurement
    • Monthly valuations
    • Valuing Variations
    • Negotiating valuations and variations with the architect/client.
    • Agreeing Final Accounts.

On a typical project for developers, private clients or architects we will undertake to:

Stage 1

  • Prepare a detailed budget from planning/proposal drawings.
  • Value engineer the budget as required and suggest alternatives to reduce costs.

Stage 2

  • Once the design is finalised – DGA will begin the tendering process with services including but not limited to:
    • Bill of Quantities production to NRM2 standards.
    • Schedule of Works
    • Comprehensive Procurement advice
    • Preliminaries document
    • Compiling a tender list of suitable contractors in the area
    • Sending out to tender and managing the process
    • Tender reviews, contractor interviews, client advice.
    • Placing contracts.

Stage 3

  • Once the contract is placed with the successful contractor – DGA can assist with the following post contract services:
    • Client’s Quantity Surveyor – cost control (valuations, valuing variations, cost projections and certainty).
    • Employer’s Agent – Contract Administration and Cost Control
    • Final Accounts
