“We are currently working as Professional Quantity Surveyors for the Client at Shenstone Old Tower, Staffordshire. The project, funded by Historic England, involves restoring a 12th Century church tower into a visitor centre and viewing gallery for local artefacts.
DGA assisted Historic England in procuring a Main Contractor to undertake the scheme. Now that DGA have undertaken a value engineering exercise and carried out additional financial due diligence as a result of the COVID 19 pandemic, the project is due to shortly start on site.”

What was interesting
This project was a Conservation job built in the 12th century church tower. The church tower is one of the only period buildings DGA have worked on. It was fundedby Historic England.
How did we benefit the client?
Following the COVID 19 pandemic, DGA carried out extensive financial due diligence on tendering contractors to ensure the financial risk to the Client was kept to a minimum.
Once tenders for the scheme were returned, DGA undertook an extensive value engineering exercise to help the client reduce their overall project costs by over £100k, whilst ensuring critical elements of the design could be maintained.
