Derek Gough has more than twenty six years’ experience in the Quantity Surveying and Construction Industry sectors. He is a much respected figure in North West business circles and has become a noted authority on matters relating to his core industry background.

Married, with a son and daughter aged 21 and 15 respectively, Derek’s educational background spans a period at Salford University, where he gained a B.Sc. in Quantity Surveying and Construction Industry Economics. He was also honoured with The Institute of Quantity Surveyors award for the Student of the Year.

Commencing his career as a Site Surveyor with John Laing construction in the early 1980’s, Derek was to find himself tasked with the responsibility to control costs on the Structures element of a £25M urban motorway project.

The mid 1980’s to early 1990’s saw him serving as Divisional Director in the Emmerson Group team, overseeing rapidly increasing divisional sales and managing the work of Quantity Surveyors located across the north of England, Scotland and Wales.

In 1993 he was to found Derek Gough Associates, building a nationwide client base and demonstrating his ability to significantly increase sales turnover whilst creating valuable sector employment opportunities.

Today, the company Derek founded occupies an enviable trading platform and has positioned itself for a further period of expansion in an exciting growth oriented industry.
